The goal of the Erie County Independent Living Program is to provide all adolescents making the transition from placement to independent living/adulthood with the supports, skills and resources necessary to make them self-sufficient and productive members of society.
Through combined efforts, Family Services of NW PA, Bethesda Children’s Home and the Erie County Office of Children and Youth have designed and implemented partnered services that include individual counseling, life skills groups, assistance in enrolling in higher education, job preparation and retainment skills training and assistance in obtaining suitable housing.

Who Should be Referred:
- Youth in placement on or after their 14th birthday
- Eligibility continues to the age of 21
- Referral source Erie County Office of Children and Youth (OCY) and Juvenile Probation
