FSNWPA Internships

Family Service of NW PA is committed to promoting professional development through internship opportunities in a variety of programs. By completing an internship at Family Services, you will get real-life experience in the mental health field, be able to explore different programs within a social service organization, and work closely with professionals focused on children and families.

Internship applications and resumes for Fall/Spring of 2021-2022 are now being accepted. To apply, complete the application below and submit with a resume to resumes@fsnwpa.org by April 12, 2021.

Internships are available in the programs listed below. School-based internships are dependent on COVID-19 restrictions.

Internship Requirements

Those applying for internships with Family Services of NW PA must currently be enrolled in a MSW or BSW program at a university or college. All applicants must be able to obtain clean clearance for FBI Fingerprints, Child Abuse, and PA Criminal History. Internship applicants must be motivated and organized, enjoy working with families, and have good communication skills. Additionally, all applicants must be age 21 or older. 

MSW/Counseling internships are available in the following programs:

  • School-Based Behavioral Health
  • Family Based Mental Health

BSW internships are available in the following programs: 

  • Adoption
