Big Brothers Big Sisters Annual Fundraiser to begin on April 29

News and Events - April 26, 2016

Erie, PA (April 18, 2015) – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Family Services of NW PA is hoping to bowl a strike at the annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake fundraiser! The event is being held at Greengarden Lanes on April 29, May 6 and May 13 with bowl times at 5:30 and 8:00 pm.

Now in its 34th year, Bowl for Kids’ Sake is the largest fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Family Services of NW PA, with 100% of proceeds going directly into the program to recruit new volunteers and support current matches. For the sixth consecutive year Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield is the Platinum Sponsor. Other major sponsors include Erie Insurance and Erie Sand and Gravel.

“At last year’s event we had 61 sponsors, 124 teams and more than 675 bowlers participate in Bowl For Kids’ Sake. We were able to raise nearly $80,000 to support the program,” said Program Director Paula Hayes. “We are so grateful to the community for continuing to support both this event and also our local youth mentoring program.”

Bowlers at this year’s event can expect an evening of fun, food, drinks, and chances to win exciting door prizes. Participants will also have the chance to win one of three grand prizes, including a Scott Enterprises Get Away Package! Costumes, clever team names and friendly competition are encouraged.
