The Importance of In-Home Behavioral Health

December 30th, 2022

Our in-home behavioral health services are available to families in need of assistance. These services aim to help treat behaviors and mental health issues in the comfort of one's home. Below is a list of our services and how they help individuals.

Family Based Mental Health

Family Based Mental Health helps families by providing different services to children with mental health issues or who are at risk of hospitalization due to mental health symptoms. This service offers the following:

  • Intensive in-home therapy.
  • Case management.
  • Crisis intervention.

A team of co-therapists work with the family so the child can remain in their home, school, and community. This helps prevent hospitalization and out-of-home placement, keeping a more regular schedule and routine in their life.

Family-Based Mental Health is a voluntary program that includes between 3-5 visits with the family weekly. Counselors are also on-call 24/7 if there happen to be emergencies where their services are needed.

This service is available in Erie, Crawford, Mercer, and Venango counties.

Specialized Family Based Mental Health

Specialized Family Based Mental Health helps parents care for a child who has been a victim of sexual abuse or who demonstrates sexually reactive behaviors. Co-therapists work with the family to provide intensive in-home therapy, case management, and crisis intervention services.

Specialized Family-Based Mental Health is a voluntary 8-month program that includes 3-5 visits to the family weekly and has counselors on-call 24/7 for emergencies.

This service is available in Erie, Crawford, Mercer, and Venango counties.

Family Behavior Therapy

Family Behavior Therapy helps treat substance abuse, conduct disorders, family dysfunction, mood disorders, and other problem behaviors. This program treats both parents/caregivers and adolescents who are struggling with substance abuse.

Family Behavior Therapy aims to assist individuals and their families through long-term abstinence from substance abuse. We want to encourage individuals to accomplish their goals so they can live a consistently drug-free, prosperous life.

Sessions take place weekly in the family's home, and the average length of the service is between 4-6 months.

This service is available in Erie, Crawford, and Mercer counties.

Functional Family Therapy

Functional Family Therapy helps families with at-risk youth who exhibit delinquent behavior. By focusing on treating the whole family, Functional Family Therapy is designed to help children overcome their issues as a group. These issues include risky behaviors, violence, and emotional challenges.

This program aims to reduce dropout and truancy rates, violence, and risky behaviors. It also aims to increase positive family communication and improve conflict management between the parent and the adolescents 10-18 years old.

This service is available in Erie County.

Multisystemic Therapy

Multisystemic Therapy utilizes intensive in-home therapy to help youth decrease and prevent antisocial and delinquent behaviors.

This program focuses on youth ages 12-17 years old who exhibit chronic delinquent behavior and/or severe emotional problems, including substance abuse, criminal and aggressive behavior, and truancy and academic issues.

Multisystemic Therapy aims to improve the family's functionality and keep the child in their home, school, and community rather than be removed.

This service is available in Erie, Crawford, and Mercer counties.

MST for Problem Sexual Behaviors

MST for Problem Sexual Behaviors helps youth decrease sexually offending behaviors. This program is designed to help youth who have committed sexual offenses and have demonstrated other severe problem behaviors.
