CEO Greg Loop Announces Retirement

October 16th, 2026

Greg Loop, President and CEO of Family Services of NW PA, announced he will be retiring in April 2027.

Greg joined Family Services as the President and CEO in June 2014. Under his leadership, Family Services strengthened its programs, expanded services, invested in evidence-based practices, improved its systems and accountability, and remained committed to financial responsibility while continuing to invest in the agency's mission.

"I made the decision to come to Erie in 2014 because I believed Family Services had a strong vision, mission, and values; a commitment to evidence-based programs; a reputation for fiscal responsibility; a dedicated board of directors; and, most importantly, good people who wanted to make a difference," said Greg. "I believed then, as I do now, that Family Services was the kind of organization I wanted to lead and be a part of."

The Family Services Board of Directors has formed a committee and engaged an outside advisor to ensure a smooth leadership transition. "Family Services is well positioned for the future, and our Board and senior leadership team are confident in the agency's ability to continue serving children and families throughout Northwest Pennsylvania," said Richard Makowski, chair of the Family Services Board. "We are grateful for Greg's leadership and his many contributions over the past 13 years, and we wish him all the best in retirement."

"Family Services has a solid foundation, a respected reputation in the community, a committed board of directors, an experienced senior leadership team, strong managers and supervisors, and – most importantly – dedicated team members providing services every day," said Greg. "While my decision to retire is a personal one, it does not reflect a change in the importance of our mission, the strength of the organization, or out commitment to the people we serve."

Greg and his family are grateful to now call Erie home. "We have been welcomed, built relationships, and become part of this community," said Greg. "For that, my family and I will always be grateful."
