POSITION SUMMARY:
The Match Support Specialist for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Family Services of NW PA is responsible the provision of direct services and match support to volunteers/families/children in the agency's Big Brothers/Big Sisters service program. Provides and arranges for group socialization activities. This position is responsible for effective recruitment presentations. This position requires the ability to have a fleible schedule which may include evening hours. Considerable day and evening driving to county areas is required. Team member is required to have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation is essential. Team member is required to visit client's homes on a regular basis.
JOB DUTIES:
- Provides volunteer/child match services
- Provides match supervision services
- Participates in match selection process with appropriate staff
- Develops and implements socialization activities for clients, some requiring physical activities
- Participates as assigned in annual agency fundraisers, which may require physical activities. Take an active role in the leadership of one or more of the smaller fundraisers
- Ability to engage new donors/sponsors
- Conducts home visits on a regular basis
- Conducts assessment interviews
- Maintains case records per agency policies and does so in a timely manner
- Completes regular statistical and client activity reports, as assigned
- Demonstrates coordination skills in working with families, staff and other agency personnel
- Advocates for clients or provides support for clients to act on his/her own
- Establishes a professional relationship with the client
- Understands community organizations and their purposes
- Participates in staff development activities, including individual and peer supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences or within six months of degree completion OR
- Associate's degree or two years of higher education experience in social sciences OR
- High School diploma or GED and four years of relevant work experience in related fields, such as social work, counseling, social services, child development or other related fields.
- Parenting and/or child development background required
- Marketing/recruiting background beneficial.
