Position: Match Support Specialist, Big Brothers Big Sisters
Reports To: Program Manager, Big Brothers Big Sisters
Pay Rate: $15.50 per hour
Job Type: Part time
Location: Crawford County
$1,000 Sign-On Bonus*
*$250 at 90 days, $250 at 180 days and $500 at 1 year

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Match Support Specialist for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Family Services of NW PA is responsible the provision of direct services and match support to volunteers/families/children in the agency's Big Brothers/Big Sisters service program. Provides and arranges for group socialization activities. This position is responsible for effective recruitment presentations. This position requires the ability to have a fleible schedule which may include evening hours. Considerable day and evening driving to county areas is required. Team member is required to have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation is essential. Team member is required to visit client's homes on a regular basis. 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Provides volunteer/child match services
  • Provides match supervision services
  • Participates in match selection process with appropriate staff
  • Develops and implements socialization activities for clients, some requiring physical activities
  • Participates as assigned in annual agency fundraisers, which may require physical activities. Take an active role in the leadership of one or more of the smaller fundraisers
  • Ability to engage new donors/sponsors
  • Conducts home visits on a regular basis
  • Conducts assessment interviews
  • Maintains case records per agency policies and does so in a timely manner
  • Completes regular statistical and client activity reports, as assigned
  • Demonstrates coordination skills in working with families, staff and other agency personnel
  • Advocates for clients or provides support for clients to act on his/her own
  • Establishes a professional relationship with the client
  • Understands community organizations and their purposes
  • Participates in staff development activities, including individual and peer supervision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences or within six months of degree completion OR
  • Associate's degree or two years of higher education experience in social sciences OR
  • High School diploma or GED and four years of relevant work experience in related fields, such as social work, counseling, social services, child development or other related fields.
  • Parenting and/or child development background required
  • Marketing/recruiting background beneficial.
